Impressive Creations was born from a deep-rooted love of storytelling—and a bit of VCR magic.
Brian’s creative journey actually started with a passion for music and songwriting. As a self-taught musician, he was constantly inspired by rhythm, emotion, and the power of a great story told through sound. That passion naturally spilled into visual storytelling.
Back in his teenage years, you could find Brian catching waves while his dad filmed from the shore. He’d rush home, fire up two VCRs, and hand-edit those surf clips to music—long before editing software was a thing. That early spark lit the fire for a life of creativity and adventure. Brian’s love for the ocean led him to become a professional bodyboarder, eventually ranking 3rd in the world in 1995 and 1st in the U.S. in 1997. His drive, discipline, and passion for flow and motion carried seamlessly into the world of filmmaking.
By 2000, Brian bought his first Mac to dive deeper into music production, sound design, and video editing. In 2002, he filmed a wedding for a close friend at church—and everything changed. He was hooked. What started as a favor became a full-fledged passion. And today, Impressive Creations is a nationally recognized wedding cinema and photography studio known for capturing life’s most unforgettable moments with heart, artistry, and style.
Brian is not just a filmmaker—he’s a husband of 25 years to his beautiful wife Holly, a proud father to four incredibly talented kids, and a professional storm chaser and nature photographer. From chasing Supercell storms across the Great Plains to photographing the Northern Lights in Canada, Brian has spent years capturing the awe-inspiring energy of the natural world. That same love for movement, light, sound, and emotion infuses every frame we create.
